Kaththi is the movie that defies the usual premise of a typical Vijay film. If you were expecting masala scenes and mass entries and punch dialogues, then youre better off watching Poojai. Kaththi is a movie with a very strong social message regarding farmers and their livelihood. The struggles that they face day to day and their importance is aptly depicted. One of the strongest points in this movie are the dialogues. The dialogues from the flashback scene and the interview scenes are very well written. Thalapathy has proved that a movie doesnt need masala nor a mass intro scene to be a hit. The movie has many many strong points, like the anthar mass interval scene and the scene shown in the teaser, but it also has weak points in the form of Samantha and the comedy track, both of which were way below par. Movie drags a bit for the first 20 min but then picks up from there. All the fight scenes were choreographed very well especially the coin fight scene, which is way of Murgadoss saying Oh indha fight eh ippadiyum pannalame. Thalapathy packs a solid performance with Kaththi, a sure shot hit this Diwali. Niel Nitin Mukesh, the subtle villain pulls off an average job. Bottomline: Kaththi is neither a Thuppaki, nor is it a Thalaiva. Its a different movie altogether which works out just as well. My rating: 3.5/5 #Thalapathy #ARM #kaththi
