Kathy and I hosted hundreds of folks without houses in our home over the years. Without question, the greatest lesson we learned is that everyone of them were someones child, mate, parent, neighbor, friend or associate. They were not faceless, nameless people. Everyone had a story, hopes and dreams. Like my brother Hugh L. Hollowell says...The opposite of homelessness is community. These are people of our community. They deserve our dignity and compassion.
