Kayla had her port removed today. Shes pretty sore and druggy but resting at home this evening. I talked to her earlier and she sounds pretty sleepy, and said she felt a little dizzy. Labs were taken when she got there to see how her levels were, if platelets were still needed and a blood transfusion. Neither was needed. Her doctor says Kayla will always surprise you! I say God has his hands on her and his work is Outstanding. Kayla got released at 5pm this evening, and they fought rush hour traffic while Kayla slept on the way home. PT will not happen this week and not sure about next week as the muscles were cut in her right chest to remove the port. They said even walking with the walker will be hard at first, due to the surgery. She will be going back to school after the holiday as her blood levels and immune system should be stable. I must say.....its something we took for granted before, but its nice to just be able to be at home. Im posting the before and after surgery pics that were sent to me. Hope you enjoy.
