Kazakhstan sets goal to offer world-class education - Nazarbayev 06 December 2014 ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev and President of France Francois Hollande have participated in the opening ceremony of Sorbonne Institute Kazakhstan in Almaty today, the Akordas press service reports. President Nazarbayev stressed that participation of the French leader in the ceremony demonstrates the paramount importance of the Kazakh-French joint educational project. Nursultan Nazarbayev also noted that Kazakhstan will not be able to build the new economy based on innovations and knowledge without being integrated into the global educational space. In our country education is the overriding priority of development. Today Kazakhstan has become one step closer to the worlds best educational standards. We set the goal to offer our youngsters world-class education here in Kazakhstan. The opening of the internationally-renowned institute proves we are on the right path, the Kazakh President added. Francois Hollande, in turn, noted that Kazakhstan and France will further expand cooperation in the sphere of culture and education. He expressed confidence that future graduates of the institute will greatly contribute to Kazakhstans innovative development.
