Keep an eye out for a SILVER VOLVO car 04D reg with a number of men on board whom are suspected of being involved in a number of thefts from cars in the Johnstown area in Enfield yesterday evening between 8.30pm and 9.15pm. They are also suspected of stealing a pedal cycle from the area. Criminals are driving around car park areas looking for unattended cars with valuables on display. If you are going to leave you lap top, mobile phone or hand bags which are the most popular item to be stolen you are making youself an easy target and criminals will take full advantage of your carelessness. If you are a business person and stopping off for meetings, appointments of lunch breaks do not leave your lap top unattended in the car. Take it with you or make sure it is out of view. Smart phones are another item which criminals are taking in large numbers. Ensure you retain the IMEI number of the phone. This is obtained by typing in the letters *#06#. The serial number will then appear on the phone. RetaIn this and pass It on to the Gardai if your phone is stolen. You can help reduce the number of thefts from cars by simply taking a extra minute to take care of your valuables in your car. DO NOT LEAVE VALUABLES ON DISPLAY IN YOUR CAR.
