Keeping a food journal is a GREAT way to create more self - TopicsExpress

Keeping a food journal is a GREAT way to create more self awareness over your food choices. Not only does it hold you accountable but it can also highlight any patterns of negative symptoms which could be related to a food sensitivity. Write down what youre consuming for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. As well as what youre drinking. Also note how youre feeling, what your craving, energy levels, bowel movements, exercise and any other pertinent information such as supplementation. I particularly enjoy keeping a food diary because it physically allows me to see my veggie, protein and water intake. Most of us dont consume nearly enough vegetables in our day. We should be striving for a veggie-centric diet. Unfortunately, what I also see in my practice is that women in particular are typically only getting a good source of protein at dinner, they skip the protein at breakfast and usually only have salads for lunch - this can leave you feeling lethargic, low on energy with poor concentration and signal all sorts of cravings. Then theres the issue of hydration. Drinking 2L of water, which sounds simple enough is actually the number one area where most of my clients falter. Lastly, sugar! You may think that youre a rockstar in the sugar-free department, but theres many hidden sources of sugars and even natural sweeteners are still a source of sugar. Again, keeping a food journal will shed a big bright light on all of these areas that require improvement and help you to shift towards better choices. Purchasing a notebook is sufficient enough for this. But if youd like a template that you can print off and make copies of please email me hello@valeriepiccitto and I would be happy to send you one.
