Keeping it short today. I have to post this early because I wont be able to post this at the correct time. I have to return to a venue and pick up the rest of my gear after a big event. November 2, 2000, at about 12:30. A Thursday. At this point in time, I had wrapped up paying the breeder for my first pug puppy, which I named Lump. Lump entered this world on August 15, 2000. He joined me on the above date and time. He left me on May 25, 2014 at 16:30. He was an amazing pug. Then again, really, arent all pugs. Ill just recap that car ride back. I drive approximately 60 miles to get Lump. The ride there was quiet. The ride back was also quiet, but it wasnt alone. I took with me a decent sized cardboard box that fit in the foot area for the front passenger seat of my Runner. I put a collar on Lump before leaving the breeder, carried him to the car, got in through the drivers door, placed him gently into the box after holding him in my lap and petting him for a minute. I think had to get moving again, so I gently placed him into the box, which was more than low enough for him to easily look at me on the drive back. Thats pretty much all he did for the next hour in the car. We bonded instantly. Our first scheduled stop was the management office for the apartment complex, where I had to fill out the paperwork for having a pet and pay the pet deposit, while the ladies there fawned over Lump. Once that was done, we drove back to my 1 bedroom apartment, where toys, a crate(with bowl, padding and water bottle), toys, food and water bowls, treats and puppy food were waiting. At this point, our lives together truly began. So, for as long as I will be able to remember, November 2nd will be Lump Day. No condolences necessary. I thank the fact I have a job to do that will keep me busy and my mind off the meaning of the day for a few hours. I choose to think of this day as a day of new beginnings, not a day of sadness. Enjoy a cute picture: https://facebook/photo.php?fbid=485215194941925&set=a.356601334469979.1073741891.100003603459584&type=3&theater May a successor to him be able to enter my family soon! That collar you see is what has been worn on both my pugs. When a new pug is found he too will wear that very same collar home. It will be swapped out within the first month with a collar that should last most of his first year(size), and then will be replaced with his forever collar, which may be replaced as needed! Im definitely going to go with a harness for my next pug as well.
