Kehri Ka Mahadev (Ratapani Wildlife Sanctuary) This is a 500-700 foot sandstone hill, with water oozing out of it and trickling down through the contours and folds, eventually falling through the hanging roots of Banyan Trees growing on the hill face. The entire hill remains filled with moss, ferns and grass, through the year. The water flows down in the valley below forming a small rivulet, creating a beautiful oasis, attracting a myriad animals, birds and butterflies. Even during summers, the area remains cool and pleasant. What really made us happy was that there are still such wonderfully mystical places left. Its sad to see how many (most) such places have been decimated over the last decade and a half....... This one, however, tucked away in the Vindhyachal Ranges, near kolar dam, about 25 kms from the Lodge, 18 kms inside the Ratapani Wildlife Sanctuary, still survives, perennially....
