If you wanted to make a buck, you went and logged, fished and trapped. Today, Native people are completely dependent on government decisions. The government has not consulted the Native people of Northern Saskatchewan in the extraction of resources. The government should recognize the rights of the people in the area to decide how they are going to use their ancestral land and their resources. Part of the government budget should be used to harvest our renewable resources. There should be forest related industry, as well as a marketing of fish that will benefit the fisherman and not only the middle-man.
