Keith Vasey or anyone else thats a pilot, please explain to me how a Boeing 787 can accidentally land at the wrong airport. It was supposed to land at an Air Force base but, instead, stopped at a small airstrip 9 miles away. Why didnt ATC know they were lined up for the wrong airport? Doesnt the plane have GPS or something similar so they should know, within a couple meters, where they are? Of course, yesterday there was the story of a commuter train that took a wrong turn and missed NYC. The news report said that after a period of time they turned around and eventually got to their proper destination. Question, Whens the last time you saw a train turn around? Im thinking it just backed up.
