Kennedy Friday wrote: Dear Mr. President, while you are in Kwara State commissioning failed politicians for the PDP, be it known to you sir, that the only so-called achievement your vuvuzelas were trumpeting for you is seriously under threat. For about two weeks now, Mr. President, Nigerians have been enduring a biting fuel scarcity, so much so that citizens cannot go about their lawful businesses as a result of lack of petrol. Long, intimidating queues have been seen in our fuel stations as motorists scramble to buy fuel into their cars. Transportation of goods and services have been a nightmarish experience for Nigerians these two weeks sir, as transporters charge astronomical fares, out of the reach of impoverished Nigerians. Even homes have been thrown into darkness. We have been used to blackouts, Mr. President, as electricity supply continue to plummet. Thats why Nigerians found a saving grace in their pure-water generators, but even that cannot help now, as people are unable to find the fuel to power their homes. Is this the fresh air you promised Nigerians in 2011, Mr. President? Kwarans would have been very happy today if you went there to commission projects that would improve their lives, but lo and behold, you didnt bring hope. You didnt bring anything new. Only the old, dry promises that Nigerians are fed now up with. Now that you have abandoned governance, abdicated your primary responsibility to protect the lives and property of Nigerians, and have resumed your unhelpful gallivanting from place to place, be aware that Nigerians will not appreciate you based on how many persons you are able to commission for your party, but how you are able to improve their lives. While you are gleefully doing the former, you are appallingly failing at the latter. That should give you a big concern, Mr. President. We need fuel in our cars. We need fuel in our generators since you have failed to provide electricity. Going to east, west north and south commissioning people cannot help us in anyway. You are only frittering and plundering scarce resources that should have been used for edifying development. Its not too late, Mr. President, to turn back from the road to perdition you have embarked upon. But seriously, this fuel scarcity must stop. Or arent you concerned that your most trumpeted achievement is now quickly eroding?
