Kenyans Opposed To The Referendum Calls By Cord Majority of Kenyans are opposed to a national referendum, according to the latest opinion poll released by research firm IPSOS. According to a survey by ipsos Synovate 54% of Kenyans interviewed were opposed to the referendum being pushed for by the opposition and a section of governors, with 38% backing it while, 8% were still not sure where they stand. The highest number of Central Kenya residents opposed the national vote at 80% with 13% supporting, while in Nyanza 57% supported while 13% opposed. Releasing the results the company’s lead researcher Tom Wolf says those against the exercise term it a costly affair. He however says regardless of referendum, the changes most Kenyans want in the constitution include giving more powers to county governments as well as reconstituting the electoral body
