Kerrie Rousseau aka Najla found out about a fast approaching - TopicsExpress

Kerrie Rousseau aka Najla found out about a fast approaching audition for Jillinas new artistic project, Bellydance Evolution, which was reportedly producing a show in Boston. I had great admiration for Jillina ever since an upper classmate of mine, Jemileh Nour Kina, (we were in classes with Amira Jamal) told me to get this drum solo dvd and from there I watched Jillina and her many award winning shows and troupes flourish. So, this opportunity to be staged in and learn some Jillina group choreography, to learn about the new theatrical belly dance show production, to learn some new moves perhaps, and technique from a master and her team...I had to go for it. We had NO time to prep for the audition and the deadline was rushing up fast so after a few frantic and intense hours of practice, we videotaped ourselves and sent the required dancing in just before the deadline. We could instantly see the other dancers auditions online. The talented performers were from all over - as far as Spain, I think. We decided that chances were slim but sweaty hugs were given to each other. No matter what happened we gave it our all in the short time we had and that this was something to be proud of. Fate could decide the rest. Well, I am so pleased that fate (and some hard work) has given me a chance to meet the woman who taught me the omi. Im slated to perform under direction of Jillina in the Belly Dance Evolution show on Wed Jan 7th in Boston and in some shows in New York that following weekend. I have no idea what I will learn and who I will meet but I am excited. Kerrie, you rock and I love you for encouraging your teacher. Blessings also on your video-editing, generous, boy, Gary. And, on generous Rosheema Laughinghouse, Penny Hahn, and Carey Mullen. *******QUESTION for fans, friends, teachers, students, colleagues, and family of mine: Do you have time to consider voting for me in the Peoples Choice portion of this audition - still in progress? Your vote may allow me, a local, to perform a solo in the Boston show. the link is here: bellydanceevolution/competitions/category/submissions/boston/ Happiness is pushing yourself to try new things no matter the outcome THEN having the outcome turn out to be a good one!
