Keshi Encourages Super Eagles Players To Bring Their Wives To The World Cup To Avoid Distraction Stephen Keshi has revealed that he is not against player’s wives travelling with their husbands to the World Cup. The Super Eagles boss explained that it would allow them to concentrate better, if the players had their family members around and also dismissed insinuations that his boys would be distracted by Brazilian women. “It’s good for the players because it makes you concentrate better. I remember World Cup 94, some of us went with our wives. When I was with Mali, we went to the Nations Cup in Angola with our wives,” Keshi said during a roundtable meeting with media organised by national team sponsors TomTom in Lagos. The 52-year-old, was however not sure about access to girlfriends for the players. He added: “I don’t know about girlfriends but wives, yes. I think it’s a good thing.” Keshi also insisted that the Eagles will not be distracted during competition, by the women in the South American nation. “What do they have in Brazil that we don’t have in Nigeria?” he asked.
