Kevin Clay “Casey” Caldwell, 50, of Haskell, Texas passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013 at his home in Haskell. A visitation is planned for Saturday evening, July 13 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Smith Family Funeral Home in Haskell. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 15, 2013 at Slidell Cemetery in Slidell, Texas with Rev. Bobby Cates officiating. Arrangements were made under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home. Casey was born July 26, 1962 in Dallas, Texas to Kenneth and Monisa (Rinker) Caldwell. He married Marva Denise (Holmes) Bird on May 8, 2002 in Haskell. Marva preceded him in death June 8, 2005. Loved and respected by so many, Casey was a caring, compassionate soul that was dedicated to helping others and being available to those in need. He will truly be missed as the community’s devoted paramedic of Haskell and Haskell County. Also preceding him in death is a brother, Gary Caldwell. Casey will be missed by his son, Coleton Caldwell of Seymour, Texas; his parents, Kenneth and Monisa Caldwell of Decatur, Texas; brother, Curtis Caldwell and wife Brenda of Coriuth, Texas; sister, Sherrie Caldwell of Gainsville, Texas; and 3 nephews, Marshall, Ty and Will Caldwell.
