Kevin Costner ha some hard decisions to make as general manager of the Cleveland Browns in the football drama Draft Day directed by Ivan Reitman. My review. Its Draft Day in the NFL and Costner plays Sonny Weaver, GM of the Browns who is looking to rebuild his team for the new season. While he figures out what to do about his team he is also dealing with relationships including co-worker and gilrfriend (Jennifer Garner). He also has to contend with the Browns coach (Denis Leary) and the team owner (Frank Langela). The film takes you into all of the inner-workings of deal making between the teams during the course of one day and what it means for the players and the league. Also co-starring in the film are Terry Crews, Kevin Dunn, Tom Welling, Sean Combs, Chi McBride, Chadwick Boseman, Wade Williams, and Ellen Burstyn. Costner has graduated from being an athlete in his earlier sports films to management here and he does it well. My Rating: B.
