Key policies not agreed within UFDF Attorney general Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says despite the National Federation party denying that there will be a coalition amongst the members of the United Front for democratic Fiji, which includes the Fiji Labour Party, the social Democratic and Liberal Party; there are already signs of them grouping up against the government. The NFP yesterday told FBC News, that they do not agree with some of the policies of the SODELPA leader Ro Teimumu Kepa, and can’t agree on a coalition as yet. “It was quite categorically stated that the three parties will form a coalition, whether the coalition is formed pre elections or post elections, the fact is that they are going to form a coalition, and that is the fact, the fact is that they also under UFDF, they already have a coalition, in terms of having a united front against the government, so the fact is they already have a coalition”. The AG says the apart from SODELPA the NFP and FLP as yet, don’t have a policy on coalitions. “The reality of course is that when you form a coalition, you need to be able to know what are your party’s policies, and to date no body realy knows what are the party’s policies the statement of SODELPA has clarified some of the particular policy position, of the party but what is the policy position of the other two members of UFDF, that doesn’t appear to be clear”, NFP President Paman Pratap Singh says they don’t agree with a few policies under the UFDF banner._ Each party is an independent party, they should be allowed to fight their own elections, and there is no change of that policy. Shanal Sivan: You are under UFDF, you are agreeing to some points, but as individual parties you are not agreeing to key points? Yes individual parties have their own policies; they will fight elections on those policies. A strict memorandum of understanding exists for UFDF, highlighting the role of each party. fbc.fj/fiji/18657/key-policies-not-agreed-within-ufdf Key policies not agreed within UFDF Attorney general Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says despite the National Federation party denying that there will be a coalition amongst the members of the United Front for democratic Fiji, which includes the Fiji Labour Party, the social Democratic and Liberal Party; there are already signs of them grouping up against the government.
