Keys to a better marriage: Become the best husband or wife you can be. I know this one will grate some of you the wrong way. You see we now grow up in a culture that tends to announce I only have to be as good as you are. In marriage if one of you is being terrible and the other decides to be terrible too I think we can all see all you are going to have is a terrible marriage. What if one of you decides to be the best husband or wife they could be. Wouldn’t that tend to then inspire the other to try and rise up to their level? I know some of you are probably saying heck no they would just then be taking advantage of me. Well you may have just stumbled upon a Bible principle God wants you to live by according to 1 Cor. 6:7. The bible paraphrased says shouldn’t you be willing to be defrauded to help promote the name of Christ. I know you never thought of that in context of marriage but aren’t you being the judge, jury and prosecutor of your spouse when their actions seem out of place? I say it’s time we embrace this key and start acting a little more Christ like towards your spouse and see if in letting God shine through might help to change their heart. Reginald Brister.
