Keys to tonights game- 1.) Dethrone the king. We are going to have our hands full with Hernandez tonight. Arguably the best pitcher in the American leauge. He is sporting a 1.88 ERA, and an amazing .89 WHIP. There is no way around it... he is an outstanding pitcher. The self proclaimed king of Seattle. Well no pitcher is unbeatable...and kings are meant to be dethroned. But we are going to need to start hitting early. We are going to need to battle. With this guy pitching... we need to be patient at the plate and have meaningful at bats. If nothing else... work his pitch count up... 2.) We owe Kluber. Big time. Poor guy pitched the best game of his career his last start... and got zero run support... and an error that blew a complete shut out game for him. Klubera face after Raburns spiked ball was an accurate representation of exactly how fans are feeling. Three times this season Kluber has reached the ten strike out mark. He has stepped up time and time again when we have needed a strong outing.. and he has surpassed our expectations. Our offense, and defense owes him strong support. No sloppy errors. No extra outs. Keep routine plays routine! What a novel idea. The rest of the team needs to rise to the level that Cory Kluber has pitched. 3.) Make your own luck. Frustration, I think, is at an all time high. I am frustrated. I know all of you are frustrated... and it was apparent that the players were frustrated as well. Sometimes... we get lucky... but that does not seem to be the case for us right now. But there is no excuse. If we want a chance for post season we are going to need to make our own luck. Make plays happen. Believe we can do this. I do. But I do not want a flame.. I want a fire. I want to see the energy that wins a fight. I want to see urgency that changes fate. I want to see them want it!
