Keystone: (definition) noun; (1) a central stone at the summit of an arch, locking the whole together. (2) the central principle or part of a policy, system, etc., on which all else depends. Synonyms: foundation, basis, linchpin, cornerstone, base, principle, guiding principle, core, heart, center, crux, fundament the keystone of the governments policy Perhaps its fitting that Big Oils most recent ploy for perpetual fossil fuel development in North America is called the Keystone XL Pipeline. Could this be the linchpin of continuous tar sands expansion and new projects? Our congress is paid for by the Koch Bros. (among other oil and chemical billionaires) and this pipeline is going to be delivering the dirtiest oil on the planet to refineries they own in Texas. If we the people want our rights to guide our country back, its time to act! There is a massive indigenous coalition growing along with ever more bold and courageous climate reality activists. This is our moment to change the course of the future on this little miraculous ball of life! To demand that all tar sands projects wind down, To demand that the infrastructure for our renewable energy future be planned out and set in motion. There are innumerable opportunities to develop programs and businesses that consider the entire life cycle of their products and how every stage might support rather than degrade the health of other living things. Innumerable opportunities to create employment that is cleaning up superfund sites, overseeing the remediation of soils, forests and waterways. Innumerable opportunities for us to support each other and ourselves through the prevention of disease, rather than an acceptance of it. Ultimately it is my hope that each human will see the world with relativity, with relationship to bird, bee, flower, mushroom, tree; deer, wolf, rabbit, slug, fish and manatee. And know that we have been here, living healthfully, with strength, abundance, dignity and creativity for a millennia. We survived for so long without oil, why should we let billionaires force us to believe we need this substance now within every aspect of our daily functioning. My Climate Action Dream: Industrial Hemp! -no more paper from trees! I want to blow my nose with a medicinal herb not a tortured tree! -requires no big Chemical Co. pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, or fertilizers -can help remediate decimated soils -hemp seed is one of the most nutritious foods on the planet -hemp oil was used as one of the first diesel fuels -hemp and marijuana both have endless potential for healing, easing pain, and expanding insight... when they are part of our culture, we become wise with how to use them with respect... as we should with each other and all things! The only reason this miracle plant was taken from us is so Oil, Chemical, and Timber/Paper companies could become the new empires of this world. Im ready for a cooperative world where we can all prosper.... Arent you? Please let President Obama know you dont support the Keystone XL pipeline or the expansion of Tar Sands projects, like those already being developed in Utah and Colorado!
