Keywords: Lawful order of the police! Ask a prosecutor how many times, they let a person go without charges because the police arresting them on breaking a law that wasnt a law. I remember arguing and debating with a 25 year ret. vet of the police force in Indiana- about whether or not moving to the right for a ambulance was a ticket-able offense- bet him $5 -I told him just because you gave the person a ticket doesnt mean it stood up in court. He had to pay up after a judge told him that at that time in Indiana- it was a courtesy not a violation and everyone of those tickets that came through his courtroom was dismissed. and the courtesy was that the ambulance or police car could be going to a scene that involved said drivers loved one. aint no way a police officer could know every damn law on the books- if I am being detained or arrested, they should be able to cite the specific law or keep it moving. Police dont have to tell us the truth, but we have to tell them the truth. something is wrong with that picture. and if they want respect from me, they will talk to me and treat me with respect- even criminals have rights The only time I was in handcuffs in my life was when I was falsely accused of armed robbery because I supposedly fit the description and the lying ass police officers told me that they had been following me for weeks and knew that it was me and I might as well just confess that they will work with me for leniency as according to them, I had committed this crime and was facing 5-10 years on 4 counts of armed robbery. Not only did I know anything about the robberies, I also didnt commit them or any other crimes- even when they were asking me about my whereabouts from 6 months prior- who in the hell remembers where they were 6 months ago at say 6pm. [turns out that I was in college those days, and the only way I figured that out was because the police made a very vital mistake and that was allowing me to have my backpack in the interrogation room and when I asked for a calendar, they went to go get one that took 2 hours and I started studying for an upcoming state certification test and I had just happened to write the dates at the top of pages of my notes- other than that, I wouldnt had known and probably just get out of jail today as- this was the summer of 1994. the lies they told that they had been following me.. if they had, wouldnt they had known that I was in class from 6-10pm? and during the search of my stuff they found my gun that I had a Indiana concealed carry permit for even though I was in Illinois -so they charged me with that- and the judge threw that out, because they searched my stuff without my consent and once my attorney filed a motion to suppress the evidence and granted by the judge- the police didnt even bother to show up to court- oan... I lost my job because of the arrest all based on lies. but this guy would tell me that it was okay to search to my stuff without my consent. and I saw the sketch of the person wanted for the robberies- and the only thing that matched me was that he was black. There was a time when I trusted police- but I cant say that right away... I understand that their job is tough, but when they get away from serving and protecting they loose my respect- excessive behavior by supposedly professionals that are trained to deal with escalating situations- but to shoot an unarmed man, woman, boy or girl and use the word fear as their reason for shooting at a person 12 times or choking a guy out- I understand that you had to get him down, but once down with 6/7 police officers- that hold should have been removed but it wasnt- that was no longer trying to get him cuffed that was more emotional like you stood up to me and disrespected me in front of these police- that extra head held to the ground and the knee to the back was extra. that second set of 5 shots, was extra- thats not fear thats out of emotion and intent- and they should be the first ones to understand that you cant let your emotions get the best of you and to always remain calm. This is why these rogue cops should be tarred and feathered. If you cant handle the heat, then get out of the kitchen. Ryan Hodge Desert Storm Vet.
