Kia Ora Koutou As most of you know our roopu Kotahi AROHA INC was founded by 5 Kiwi ladies, We created our roopu to assist the homless and families/individuals struggling in the home. We built our foundation, created our committee, succeeded in registering as a charity and as an incorporated association and purchased our Australia Wide Public Liabilty Insurance to cover ourselves as well as our volunteers whilst out and about doing our mahi and built our own website kotahiaroha.org . We have done all of the above with the help of many and we are so thankful and are about to reach another milestone as we celebrate our 1st Birthday July 17th 2014. Here is some of the mahi (work) we have done over the past 10 months: Provided many food parcels to many families from Caboolture - Gold Coast Provided accomadation for families in need Provided regular street feeds rain hail or snow from Caboolture to logan Provided FREE BBQs and Clothing Giveaways from Caboolture to Logan 10km Bridge to Brisbane to raise funds for a family in need Provided urgent assistance to many in different situations be it medical & hospital, Tangihana, Budgeting etc Provided FREE WORKSHOPS to assist with Job Search (these we have specified funding that has been allocated for this sole purpose for our Northside workshops but our Logan & Gold Coast workshops are self funded) & MUCH MORE A lot of the above we have done with money from our own pockets and community contributions through our fundraiser raffles and benefit concert featuring Maisey Rika back in November. Recently due to the lack of funds we temporarily suspended our food parcel service, but where necessary we have sourced food parcels from our own cupboards or pockets or referred to other organisations to get the assistance they required and that has really hit us hard and we would like to get that service back up in full swing ASAP which brings me to my plea on behalf of our roopu. We are looking for koha (donations) of any denominations be it one off or regular deposits to assist us on our journey to help others. We understand that times can be tough and are asking only if it does not put yourself or family in hardship. If every one of our followers and our family and friends were to donate $1 per week we would have over $2500 per week to help make a difference so this is our goal.
