Kia ora! This week is our birthday week. So I have big plans. I would like to see a big culture change within Aotearoa about infant feeding. For the next week I will be asking people to post here, PM anonymously, or email (piripoho.aotearoa@gmail)- -Your infant feeding stories. What you did and why. -How you felt about making the decision -How you feel NOW feel about formula, breastfeeding. Seeing articles on your newsfeed. Hearing others talk about it. Seeing someone feed their child in a way different to yours. These stories will be reposted anonymously or just left on the wall. I will be moderating discussion and have a zero tolerance policy for anything except full support. I would really like for us all to read about DIFFERENT circumstances and how we are all feeling as a result. My aim here is for families to read about stories completely different to theirs, and feel empathy for others, and get an insight into why supporting one another is so important. When you read these stories, one of two responses is ok. One is to tautoko (support, I hear you, I back you, I agree). One is to not comment anything at all. We are here to support one another. Our community here is so loving and vibrant but the internet is not. It is so important to support parents of young babies and not put them through any additional stress or pressure during one of the most emotional times of their lives! Please, all, blind support, and lets see if we can all exhale out our Feeding Guilt. I am going first, in the comments section. Arohanui. #milksharenz
