Kick it Kates Adventure Walk: Happy Birthday Mom! ------------------------------- My name is Harmony and I work for Canine Adventures. Im writing to tell you about my adventure date with a sweet girl named Kick It Kate. Kate is a beautiful fawn colored pit bull mix that I chose to take out for a fun day of exploring. This girl was just bursting with energy! She is very lovable and wants lots of cuddles. What a sweetheart! I started our adventure by picking her out of all the other dogs based on her pretty gray/tan coloring and the way I could see her tail wagged at me through the gate of her kennel. We got off to a great start when she readily jumped into my car for our ride to the river. She explored every inch of the backseat and rolled herself up in the towels I had laid on the seat. What a goof! We parked at the Laurel St. entrance to the North Bank trail and got on our way to the trails. She was so happy to be in the woods without the noise of the kennel. Kate would speed ahead and practically pull me up the hills along the trail, she was ready to get there! Eventually, after looking at lots of birds and some squirrels in the woods, we got to Texas Beach where I pulled out a ball for her to play with. She was not interested in my ball, sticks, or getting wet. When I knelt down she came over and rolled onto me, ready for some pets. This girl is so affectionate, she will be a great cuddler. I gave her belly rubs, pets and scratches behind her ears. She couldnt get enough, as you may be able to tell from the pictures! Eventually, we started making our way back down the trail to the car. Lots of mountain bikers passed us and Kate must have forgotten her manners because she wanted to jump and chase all of them. She gave me a good workout trying to hold her while the bikers rode by. Kate ended up laying down in the back of the car on the ride home to the shelter. We were both pooped! Kate and I thank you so much for sponsoring this awesome adventure today! I know she really appreciates it! Kate is available with Richmond Animal Care and Control.
