Kickoff Magazine SA clocked 20 years last week ,Lovemore moyo interviewed Collins Mbesuma who still holds the PSL record for the most goals Scored in one season:35 for Kaizer chiefs in 2004/05. We shared part of the interview Lovemore : Since you are playing more,how do you feel about your fitness?A lot of people have opinions about the subject... Mbesuma: People will always have opinions,even if they are misinformed,This weight issue is invalid,you have to understand that I have never been a tiny guy and that will never change,I have always been a big-boned human since I was a baby,so that need to be respected. Lovermore: Do you feel the fact that you not so well-spoken has disadvantage you and made people misunderstand you? Mbesuma: you dont have to talk like a politician and go around talking.As a footballer the more you talk,the more the game will move from the feet to your head,let what you do on the pitch speak for you.I am going to respect the next guy who will break my record,why should anyone else talk ill about me when I am the best player?with me,its me and my God.finish Lovemore : You havent been featuring in the Zambian squad of late.why is that? Mbesuma: I am available when they need me. Maybe there is someone doing well in the position I play,I have to concentrate on my club for now. I am mature enough to understand that they will not always select me,even though at times I feel bad,especially when I am doing well at my club,My life doesnt stop because I have not been called up to the national team.I still have my work,I am playing- what more do I want besides working hard and concentrating until the next door opens. * The record for goals scored by one player in a PSL game is held by James Chamanga,who netted five for Moroka Swallows against Platinum stars in 6-2 win in 2007*
