Kidderminster Reaction to their weekend defeat. VERDICT: Whild & Hodgkiss on Halifax defeat Manager and defender disappointed with performance. Defender Jared Hodgkiss and manager Gary Whild both spoke of their discouragement with Harriers’ first-half performance at FC Halifax Town. Despite a revitalised showing in the second half, the Shaymen did enough to hold onto their 2-0 lead. And both Hodgkiss and Whild admitted that their desired match strategy didnt go to plan. “We’re very disappointed,” said Hodgkiss. “A few harsh words have been said in the dressing room after the game and I think it was needed. “The gaffer and Creights wanted that [second half performance v Barnet] and that was the game-plan, to get on top of them early doors. “The plan was to start like a house on fire but we just didn’t get going. “We just can’t put our finger on why we’re not playing well in the first half and then we’re having to climb a mountain in the second half.” Whild added, “Everything Halifax did, the lads have been warned about. “They were warned about what it’s like coming here and their record here. “You trust the lads you’re putting out there - they’re certainly good enough because we’ve seen the results this season against good sides.” Whild also reserved praise for his right-back, who has missed just one game this season and displayed his reliability once more at the Shay Stadium. “I think the guy you’ve just spoke to is Mr Consistency,” he said. “He comes in every week, he’s seven or eight out of 10, he trains hard and gets on with it. “Maybe one or two ought to look at him and try and do similar.”
