Kids 4 Peace! EBAC’s Sequoia Healthy Start and its leadership class of 4th and 5th graders led a Peace March in Downtown Oakland yesterday to promote peace and ending negativity in their community. After addressing concerns they had about the violence within their school environment in Oakland, the students formed a group called ‘The Kids 4 Peace: Peace Revolution Project’ and decided to take back their community and attack violence. The students marched down the streets of Oakland concluding in Frank H. Ogawa Plaza where they gave written speeches and performances to help encourage members of the community to join them in the peace revolution. Oakland’s District 4 Councilmember Libby Schaaf greeted the students in front of City Hall and thanked them for their courage, leadership and commitment to help end violence.
