Kids Cooking Green just completed an awesome week long summer cooking camp in Lexington! Thank you, Community Nursery School, Lexington for the wonderful cooking space, and thanks to the awesome group of kids that cooked with KCG! We had a great field trip to The Lexington farmers Market, for our food network style challenge, and we cooked so many amazing dinners, and then ate them together every class day! We loved the chicken and black bean quesidillas, with salsa, and guacamole, and a watermelon and edamame salad. The salmon cakes with a red pepper aioli sauce and the savory crepes showed us many new cooking techniques, and were fun to make and devour! We were a bit challenged with the goats milk ice cream served in a handmade chocolate cup, but we pushed on and we created a Pink Lemonade, made with Beets! The mixed local berry & brown sugar merinques were marvelous, and the salted double chocolate cookies were crazy delicious to eat, and oh-so fun to make and learn all about the science of baking!
