Killah Ace: Hip-Hop Festival was successful Mamur M. Mbenga from Senegal Killah Ace, Gambia hip-hop singer has described the “International Festival of Hip-Hop and Urban Culture” in which he represented The Gambia, as successful. The 8th edition of the International Festival of Hip-Hop and Urban Culture held in Senegal from 18-22 June, 2013. “The festival was superb for the fact the so many people from around the world appreciated my style and performance onstage,” the young Ace told The Voice on Wednesday. While in Dakar, Killah Ace performed at the “Special Fete De la Musique” host by Zimbabwean artist NTM at Institute François De Dakar on 21 June. He also performed at a “Mega Concert De Cloture” at the Complex culture Leopold Sedar Senegore at Pikine on 22 June. His management told The Voice the singer will remain in Senegal for the time been to work with artists on projects that include songs and videos. Killah Ace a founding member of “Cyper Movement”, a group promoting hip-hop in The Gambia. He is also a prominent member of “Straight from Jupiter entertainment” which host monthly hip-hop street-shows. Amadou Fall Ba, Director General of International Festival of Hip-Hop and Urban Culture, said the festival aims to promote and developed urban culture in Africa, which involves graphic, rap, Deejaying, slam, beat box, break dance, exhibition of arts materials and workshop. Senegal, The Gambia, Mauritania, Chad, Zimbabwe, Niger, Morocco, USA, Brazil, Canada, Germany, Spain, Belgium, UK, Italy, Netherland and France were all represented at the Festival in Dakar.
