Kilmore Community Hall Next Sunday we will hold a fundraising - TopicsExpress

Kilmore Community Hall Next Sunday we will hold a fundraising breakfast morning from 9.30am to 1.00pm for the Mark Phikhrohkan Fund. Your support would be much appreciated. Mark is Lek’s son. Originally from Thailand, Lek and Martyn settled in Killag and have been popular members of our community for the past 12 years. Lek is well-known for her culinary skills and works hard whenever and wherever she finds employment allowing her to regularly send money to her family back in Thailand. Christmas morning 2014 started for Lek with a ‘phone call from her sister in Thailand, not to wish her a joyful Christmas but to tell her that Mark, her 13-year old son, was critically injured following a road traffic accident. His condition was grave. While doctors worked hard to save Mark’s life, here in Kilmore Martynand Lak had to find a way to pay for a flight to Thailand. They managed to borrow just enough locally so she could begin the long journey home. Tragically, Mark lost his fight for life on Monday 29 December with his mother by his side. Understanding their limited finances and the cost incurred in this awful tragedy, a group of concerned people came together to raise enough money to help lighten the financial burden on Lek and Martyn. Post office account No 2681545935 has been opened in Kilmore PO and all donations and balances can be viewed on request. Over the coming weeks we will be organising events locally and although we understand that after Christmas there is financial pressure on most people we believe that this community empathises with the misfortune of others and will find a way to help. Thanking you for your generosity.
