Kim & I will be performing on/at wits tomorrow at the The Fitzgerald Theater. By tomorrow I mean Friday, December 20. And by wits I mean the cool live radio show on Minnesota Public Radio. Having only ever caught the middle section of the show, I have no idea if we will be on the radio or only heard at the show itself, but we are pretty stoked to be there, regardless. Among other things, we get to play with the house band, John Munson and the Witnesses! Last nights workshop for the Minnesota Music Coalition, Rock & Recovery, was great. It was a small turn-out, but the folks there were there for a reason, and the other speakers were great. My favorite question was from another sober musician, asking how you say No, thank you, to a fan who wants to get you a shot/buy you a beer/smoke you up. I find a simple, No, thanks, Im sober, but some of the other folks in the band might take you up on it, usually does the trick; the person making the offer is doing it out of love for the music/band, not because they want to derail my sobriety, and they are always so supportive of my sobriety and offer to buy me a water! Another person on the panel (I think it was Steve Maclellan from First Avenue & 7th St Entry) suggested, No, thanks, Im sober; but you can buy our CD! :)
