Kim Masoner, best known as the co-founder of the Seal Beach nonprofit organization Save Our Beach, had a special ability to see an unspoken need and help a total stranger, her family said last week. Her work included such things as organizing beach cleanups and helping create community events that are still popular in her hometown. Masoner died Monday night from complications with fibromyalgia and stomach issues, according to her husband, Steve. She was 54.
