Kimball incident update: Update on Brule County Standoff PIERRE, S.D. -- Negotiations continued throughout the night in the Brule County standoff. Donald London, 42, of Kimball, S.D., remains barricaded at his residence located at 24732 360th, Ave., in Kimball. Michael London, 66, of Kimball, was arrested on one count of accessory to aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, class 5 felony, punishable by up to 5 years imprisonment and/or $10,000 fine. The South Dakota Highway Patrol Trooper who was injured as part of this incident was Sergeant John Koenig (pronounced “KAY-nig”). Koenig is a 28 year veteran with the patrol who was stationed in Chamberlain, S.D. His condition remains stable. This incident has involved a large number of law enforcement officers and emergency responders. SWAT teams from the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office and S.D. Highway Patrol have been involved since yesterday and Command Posts from South Falls Police Department and the Division of Criminal Investigation have been activated. Tactical vehicles from three agency locations have deployed in response to the incident. -
