Kina Kil, the Slavers Son is an official selection under the category of live short feature (dramatic) at the American Indian Film Festival. Catch the screening on Wednesday Nov 5 at 7 pm at the AMC 16 Metreon in San Francisco. This film has an incredible cast and crew, featuring Martin Yak Teikweidi Sensmeier in the title role, with Eddie Madril, Kateri Masten, Stefan Perez, Carly Kohler, Mekele Longee, Bela Longee, Isabel Lopez, the family Darlene Crabtree, and Perry King. The film is a period piece capturing the time of contact with California Tribes along the American River and the ensuing rush for land and gold and the themes of enslavement and ultimate survival. The film feature tradtional language of Tlingit and Nisenan, and special thanks to our language translator Alan Wallace . #onnativeground This film is one of the very first films with a full native cast and crew, from the development of the film - original concept and screenplay, by On Native Ground Jack Kohler, and self-produced by a 100% tribally owned film production company, On Native Ground, and featuring Native actors, filmmakers, and crew members.
