Kind of a sad day. . . I went over by Wiles Cemetery in Ash Flat, AR on my way to buy groceries. My intent was to stop by Mama and Daddys grave and see how things were, and just to have a little talk with them. You know, sometimes you just miss your parents. . . Anyway, I got there and the cemetery looked so forlorn and pitiful that I could hardly stay more than a few minutes. The grass and weeds were knee high in some places, many of the flowers around the graves were faded and lost looking. I took the ones off our parents headstone to take home and throw away or perhaps refurbish, and will replace them with something fresh as soon as possible. I guess I need to call someone and find out who is responsible for the upkeep of the cemetery. . . and I likely need to organize a family day for us to at least go over and spruce up our own family graves - we have quite a few in there. Our great-grandparents on the Burrus side, our grandparents, our parents, several uncles, our little brother and our Auntie Irene, are the ones that come to mind. Yep, it just made me kinda sad today. . .
