Kind of been keeping this under wraps for a while, but, now that its out, I am extremely astounded and honored to have been thought of by my Sisters in Pi Beta Phi at Hillsdale College for being nominated and awarded the National Pi Beta Phi Crest Award for Community Service. Here are my thoughts of being recognized for this terrific honor. More importantly, for the many Moms out there who are watching their daughters potentially want to join a Greek Organization: I would not be where I am today had it not been for the Sisterhood, support, and leadership exhibited in this fine fraternity. Literacy, strong academics, service to community... There are many other outstanding fraternities, for sure. But for me, Pi Beta Phi solidified a sense of belonging, of service to the community, and their belief in me that I could always do more and achieve more... no matter what. This has translated into my commitment to always serve my community. Its an integral part of my life. Thank you, Pi Beta Phi. To say that I am humbled by my Sisters at Hillsdale Colleges Michigan Alpha chapter is beyond words. I would also like to thank Pi Beta Phi at Florida State and Pi Beta Phi at Syracuse University for allowing me to serve on their Alumni Advisory Committee. Thank you again, everyone. I sincerely hope that every Mom that might read this will encourage your own daughter to look into these wonderful possibilities of Greek organizations. Who knows?
