Kind of long, but please read it all, very imporatant for all to know ..... “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9 KJV Verse of the Day for Thursday, June 26, 2014. First the verse, then the commentary... 1 John Chapter 1 VERSE1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; VERSE 1 COMMNETARY: they seen and heard and touched Jesus here, for Jesus is the word of life... ........................................... VERSE 2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) VERSE 2 COMMENTARY:The life/Jesus was brougt to fruition, manifested to all that were there! hE IS REAL, hE IS gOD IN THE FLESH... ........................................... VERSE 3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. VERSE 3 COMENTARY:They , the Apostles are declaring unto us just what they heard, seen and touched, so thar WE: MAY also have fellowship with them in Jesus and the Father.. MAY, what does may mean! below the definition::: 1. (used to express possibility): It may rain. 2. (used to express opportunity or permission): You may enter. 3. (used to express contingency, especially in clauses indicating condition, concession, purpose, result, etc.): I may be wrong but I think you would be wise to go. Times may change but human nature stays the same. 4. (used to express wish or prayer): May you live to an old age. 5. Archaic. (used to express ability or power.) So, this means we have a choice, right? Common sense people, we need to catch thse words.. it may mean the life or death of our soul??? God the Father put these there, not me or man!!! ............................................ VERSE 4: And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. VERSE 4 COMMENTARY: They let us know these things, so that our Joy may be full if we do the may condition... .......................................... VERSE :5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. VERSE 5 COMMENTARY:The main message here isto us ward is God is Light and in Him is no Darkness... Is there darkness in us? ..................................... VERSE 6: If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: VERSE 6 COMMENTARY: SELF EXPLANATORY ................................... VERSE 7: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. VERSE 7 COMMENTARY: There is that on going condition IF! So if we walk continuously in His light or the light of His words, we are cleansed of our sins... Hmm, what happens if we sin, not that we want to, but for some reason we do??? Are we than not walking in the light and cannot have fellowship with God the Father? Well, yes and no..to be answered below.... .................................. VERSE 8 :If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. VERSE 8 COMMENTARY: SELF EXPLANATORY ....................................... VERSE 9 :If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. VERSE 9 COMMENTARY: So, when we are born again, we cofess our sins, we are washed clean by the blood of Jesus right? YES!! Now, if we go out say the next day and sin, perhaps not on purpose, but we do... Is that new sin alrady coverd by what Jesus did for us? It seems to me, any new sin means we are walking back in the darkness, right? We get our hands dirty... Well we , becauseof what Jesus did for us, we can boldly and reverently approach the throne of God.. We ask Him with a contrite heart to forgive us and not only will He forgive us but also forget all about them like they never happend!! a cleam slate every day, Praise God Almighty who is our Lord Jesus!!! The Father loves us and has us covered from now to eternity, but we must confess our sins!! We have to full fill the conditions He set forth for us!! 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. God bless all of you who read this...
