Kindness It is the reason my eyes can behold beautiful sunsets, or my ears comforting music, or my arms a hug. Life could be endless misery. But instead God anoints my day with enjoyment – because of His kindness. When I discover how kind God is to me, I am astonished. He is not distant and out of touch with my life. He sees me at my worst. And yet He still loves me – because of His kindness. If my kindness is to be like God’s, I must be gracious to the ungrateful and merciful to the hardhearted. As God watches my life, I want Him to see Himself reflected in my kindness. -- “Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin?” – Romans 2:4. -- “When the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy.” – Titus 3:4-5. -- “But love your enemies, …then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.” – Luke 6: 35-36.
