King Cobras are pretty cool and also highly venomous. Check this out. We love snakes :D King Kobra - The most venomous snake in the world? King Kobra vss the Inland Taipan vss the Black Mamba ;) The venom of the king cobra is so deadly that just one gram of it is enough to kill a person 20 times over. This most deadly snake can be found predominately in the forests of southeast Asia, so make sure you keep your eyes peeled. Not to mention that theyre also long enough and strong enough to constrict their prey quite easily. However it must be noted that the King Cobras venom is not the most potent among venomous snakes, but the amount of neurotoxin they can deliver in a single bite—up to two-tenths of a fluid ounce (seven milliliters)—is enough to kill 20 people and not (150) as some people have been informed. King Cobras venom can even kill an elephant. Fortunately, king cobras are shy and will avoid humans whenever possible, but they are fiercely aggressive when cornered. King Cobras are the only snakes in the world that build nests for their eggs, which they guard ferociously until the hatchlings emerge. King cobras may be best known as the species of choice for the snake charmers of South Asia. Although cobras can hear, they are actually deaf to ambient noises, sensing ground vibrations instead. The charmers flute entices the cobra by its shape and movement, not by the music it emits. So whats the worlds most venomous snake? The Inland Taipan has one of the worlds most potent venom followed up by the Australian Brown snake in at second and the Saw Scaled Viper. Just these four snakes rank the most venomous not poisonous. However there are more venomous snakes than that of the King Cobra. While we have listed the King Cobra as an educational piece its really a baby coming in at number (4) of the venom scale with the listed above at (5) and (6) being some of the worlds most venomous. Picture 2 - Inland Taipan The fierce snake or Inland Taipan can reach a total length of 2.5 metres, although 1.8 metres is the more usual length. The upper surface of the snake can vary from dark brown to a light straw colour. Dramatic seasonal colour changes take place, with a darker winter and lighter summer coloration. These changes are an adaptation to the harsh outback climate, the darker markings absorbing heat more efficiently in winter and the reverse in summer. The head especially may take on an almost glossy black appearance at times. Although the fierce snake is the most toxic snake in the world with venom more potent than any other species by a large margin. There have never been any human fatalities caused by this species. Several bites have been recorded and successfully treated by taipan antivenom. The Inland Taipan wins ;) Many people read lots of false information about snakes. Such as the Black Mamba is considered the worlds venomous snake. This is untrue. Black mambas while very deadly have killed more people than any other snake which may get its reputation as the worlds deadliest. Its actually not. Black Mamba (Step down son, your probably more of a killer however your venom is not as deadly as the Inland Taipan - the worlds most venomous snakes on Earth) Black mambas are fast, nervous, lethally venomous, and when threatened, highly aggressive. They have been blamed for numerous human deaths, and African myths exaggerate their capabilities to legendary proportions. For these reasons, the black mamba is widely considered the world’s deadliest snake because of its kill rate not venomous rate. J. Depre
