King Cotton and I talk about J.P. Richardson quite a bit, but we knew and refer to him as The Big Bopper. He was our disc jockey growing up in Southeast Texas. His hit Chantilly Lace was on all day long. Then one day we woke to hear that The Big Bopper, Buddy Holley, and Richie Valens had crashed in a plane wreck and been killed. I will never forget that day, The Day The Music Had Died. Here is more about the musicians who died that day. youtu.be/r9M6u7-9yNE
