Kingdom First Life – Day 14 – January 26, 2014 Contributed by Pastor Loui Why do you do what you do? Seriously. What motivates you to love? To serve? To listen? To work? To play? We all need motivation that lasts through the times that we’re not feeling “it”. What about when it comes to living the K1 Life? To passionately pursuing Jesus and following His commands? We can be motivated to serve God and other by a lot of different things: trying to look good in front of others, doing things out of a sense of guilt or obligation, or trying to earn God’s love or approval. All of those would be wrong. The Bible makes absolutely clear that the only true motivation that God is concerned with is our love for Him and others. It is out of the overflow of our love for God that we will have gratitude and the right motivation to make a difference in the lives of others. We have dedicated the last two weeks to seeking God like never before and setting the right tone for 2014 for our lives, marriages, families, friendships, and church. What will be your motivation to live that out? Read today’s Bible passage and discover what God says should be our motivation. Everything we do, we do FOR THE SAKE OF THE GOSPEL. DIG DEEPER: As you pray and journal today, thank God that He has allowed you to thrive over the last two weeks as you have sought Him and how he will use your life in 2014 and beyond. Ask Him that you would always have the right motivation as you live and serve others in His name. Today’s Bible reading: 1 Corinthians 9:20-23
