Kingdom leadership versus Boardroom CEO - In the incarnation - TopicsExpress

Kingdom leadership versus Boardroom CEO - In the incarnation Jesus became weak. - To reach the Gentiles Paul became weak. - The father of our faith, Abraham, could not explain to his neighbors where he was going. He was looking for something unseen, having been apprehended by Someone unseen. In western evangelical churches a leader is supposed to be strong, in command full of vision, with a vision statement and a mission statement and a five year plan and a ten year plan, so he can raise funds and rally people to some cause. I mean, after all, how can you expect people to follow you if you dont make plain where you are going and taking them? [sic]. This is rubbish. This is flesh. Try that rationale with Abraham, of whom we are supposedly regenerated of the same order. This stuff might work in the boardroom as a CEO, but it doesnt belong in the church. I actually saw the bylaws of a local church where it was written that a pastor of a local church was to be considered equivalent to the President of the United States in role and function. TO SERVE FROM A POSITION OF POWER, IS NO SERVICE AT ALL . . . . in the kingdom of our Lord.
