Kingfisher- Today I saw a kingfisher. He left his perch to soar and fly. What he saw, I could not see, For I had a blinded eye. Id seen traffic, snarly and morose. Id seen only humans, frightened when others came close. Id seen things, but had been blind, too blind to really see. Fooled by a man made world, blinded to Natures glee. I saw a kingfisher, and I watched him climb the sky. I envied him, and I thought that I knew why. A little pond held bounty, and his wings let him fly. He never doubted. Doubted, as do I. I saw a kingfisher, Saw in an instant how he lived and died. Heaven sent-- Into the heavens he returned. While I, earthbound, envied him. But I no longer wondered why.
