Kings Chapel The last few days when I have gone by the intersection of old Highway 68 and Kings Chapel I have noticed that the have torn down the old building that was Kings Chapel Methodist Church in the 1940s. I also know it was originally in the town of Montgomery when the town was in the area east of I-24. As many know, Montgomery was a decent sized town in the late 1800s. I assume that Kings Chapel was moved to the location on old Highway 68 at the intersection of Kings Chapel Road around the turn of the century. My grandfather, William M. Goode, was a member of Kings Chapel Methodist church. He was born in 1877. His mother was Virginia Jennie Davis Humphries the Humphries family came from the area of Sinking Fork south of what is now Kings Chapel road. His mother and father( John and Jennie) Goode took toll at the toll house east of Cadiz on what is now Highway 68 soon after they were married, they moved to the farm we live on now in the late 1880s, so my grandfather might have lived in the area of Kings Chapel until he was 8-11. He went only occasionally according to my mother, when they would have a meeting. Any information would be appreciated, including pictures.
