Kingship or a natural aristocracy is compatible with the natural subjective qualities of human beings. Equality (except before God) is not compatible with natural law, that is, as it is reflected in human beings. There are some individuals who can possess a higher degree of noble human qualities and are therefore worthy of the trust and honor that they find bestowed upon themselves voluntarily by others. When these individuals are given the opportunity to exercise these noble qualities for the benefit of others and when the parameters are set such that those who do not have noble qualities cannot serve in this way (for instance, as set forth in a constitution) then humanity benefits from this natural aristocracy (based solely of noble human qualities) in a similar way that individuals benefit from those who are active entrepreneurs who are keenly interested in serving humankind and earning a profit in the process.
