Kingston Nkhatha has opted to sign a pre-contract with SuperSport - TopicsExpress

Kingston Nkhatha has opted to sign a pre-contract with SuperSport United rather than accept Kaizer Chiefs offer, choosing a longer contract over a shorter one. The Zimbabwean, a regular in Stuart Baxter’s Amakhosi side, shocked the South African football fraternity last week when it was confirmed that he had agreed to join Matsatsantsa, especially given that Chiefs had offered him a new deal. However, Our Crew can reveal that Nkhatha’s decision was made largely due to the fact that SuperSport offered him an improved salary and a three-year deal, while Chiefs were only prepared to give him one year. The length of the contract coupled with the fan pressure that the 29-year-old has been under over the past 18 months will have been the main reasons why he made his decision to Naturena, although it will be met by disappointment by his head coach. Baxter put his career at Chiefs on the line not long ago, threatening to leave the club if the boo-boys didn’t give him a break, only for the player to choose to leave of his own volition. It now remains to be seen whether Baxter will play the striker over the next six months knowing that his future already lies elsewhere.
