Kitchen Fire for Crew 3 Just after 9pm on Tuesday night Engines 618, 624, Tower 611, Captain 611, and Medic 625B from Sterling Volunteer Rescue Squad were alerted for a stove fire. Engine 618 arrived on scene to find light smoke coming from the garage of a single family home. They began to advance a hoseline while Engine 624 established a 2nd water supply and prepared a 2nd hoseline, and Tower 611 began to search the home to confirm that everybody was out safely. Captain 611 established command and requested that the call be upgraded to a house fire. This added Engine 611, Engine and Rescue 439 (Fairfax – Northpoint), Truck 606 from Ashburn Volunteer Fire Rescue Department (AVFRD), Battalion 601, and Fire Marshal 614. The fire was quickly knocked down and once it was determined that it was completely out the additional units were returned to service. Sterling units remained on scene assisting the Fire Marshal with the investigation, clearing smoke from the house, and minimizing water damage. Photos by: Alex Krosse
