Kitten and Mom cat update: The vet said that theyd start the surgeries at noon... at 2:30, mom cat was awake (mostly) and ready to be brought home. And yes, it was $46 with no hidden fees. This is terrific. There will be no more hiding kittens from me, none! I have to keep her in crate for 3 days to 1 week depending on how shes doing. It occurred to me that I didnt ask if she needed pain medicine. I called.....big mistake..I asked them if she SHOULD have any pain medicine... they said yes, but it costs more, I said I dont care, Ill be right out to get it, which is where Ive been...Now I liked these people til I asked this question.... In all the other times Ive had animals spayed, they give them a long lasting pain shot before sending them home.... and they said... she had been given NO pain medicine ... NONE after going thru a hysterectomy!!! it was all I could do to keep my temper in check..... I told them that that was CRUEL, just cruel, the tech looked down as well she should.... If I had known that this was not standard practice, I would have insisted on it. ANYWAY... now Im home, Ive put the pill in a tiny bit of food mixed with milk...She has her back to me, facing the back of the cage and shows no interest in eating. Oh Im pissed. I cannot grab her and put this pill down her throat, she will tear me up. They should have given her a pain shot, she will not get well this way... I hope she eats this, I am watching and if not... I dont know what Im gonna do...This is cruelty to animals, just cruel, I changed my mind, I dont like this place... Even the one in PA made sure they were on pain meds.... Im at a loss for words on how angry I am... This WAS a good day...
