Kitui Governor Julius Malombe Friday outlined his achievements in the first 100 days in office in an interactive public forum. The Governor said he had put up the administrative structures needed to deliver services and laid the foundation for his county’s five year development agenda. In town hall style meeting, which are popular in the United States, Dr Malombe cited his Sh6.5 billion budget saying it was one of the most balanced and realistic fiscal plans in the country. “47 per cent of our budget will be spent on development programmes and the plan has no single coin deficit therefore our fiscal plan is realistic,” he said adding that the controller of budget had endorsed the document as the best in the country. He also took the forum through his plans of improving the area’s standards of living where he reiterated that he will focus on food, water and security. “Our budget priorities are based on the fact that food and water are basic needs which if not there, the county will be burdened and insecure,” Dr Malombe said. The meeting held at the Kenya Forestry Research Institute Hall brought together more than 400 leaders. Also present were Kitui Senator David Musila, nominated MP Robert Mutemi and county speaker George Ndotto. Admin #Antoh
