Kivutha asks governors to start dialogue, launches annual county education conference. Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana has asked his counterparts in other counties to start engaging in talks since they know what really affects Kenyans. Prof Kibwana said the Council of Governors should start the national dialogue — being pushed by the opposition — to discuss important issues. Speaking to the Nation in Mombasa Thursrday, he said the country must find solutions to the rampant insecurity and other issues threatening to bring it to its knees. “We have both Cord and Jubilee governors in the Council of Governors. We need to talk and find solutions. As a council we are not partisan, we discuss as Kenyan leaders,” said Prof Kibwana. Saying that governors were better placed to identify issues affecting their counties, he called on the leaders to be sober and careful not to fan insecurity and disagreements. “Dialogue is a positive thing, nobody can say no to it. We must discuss issues in a proper way and accept to come to the table with humility,” said Prof Kibwana. The governor, and other officials are at the Coast for the Makueni County Education Conference.
